Therapy Services

How We Can Work Together

  • A man with dark hair and a beard seen from behind outdoors during daytime, with trees and sky in the background.

    Individuals

Individual therapy is a space dedicated entirely to you and your story. It's a confidential partnership where we can explore your inner world, untangle difficult patterns, and heal from past wounds. Whether you're seeking to understand yourself better or navigate a specific challenge, this is your time to be seen and heard without judgment.

  • Two people sitting at a white table near a window, holding hands with one person's hand forming a heart shape. There are two mugs and a small vase with dried flowers on the table.

    Couples

Relationships can be our greatest source of joy and our deepest source of pain. I work with couples to move beyond blame and disconnection. Together, we will slow down conversations, identify the negative cycles you're stuck in, and build new ways of communicating that foster understanding, empathy, and a secure, loving bond.

    Telehealth

Life is busy, and getting to an office isn't always possible. I offer secure and convenient online therapy sessions for individuals and couples located anywhere in Tennessee. Telehealth provides a flexible way to engage in meaningful therapeutic work from the comfort and privacy of your own space.

Areas of Focus

While I work with a broad range of challenges, I have specialized experience in the following areas:

  • For many, faith and spirituality are sources of great comfort. For others, they have been sources of profound pain, confusion, or shame. If you're deconstructing your faith, healing from harmful religious experiences, or feeling stuck between your beliefs and your well-being, I provide a safe space to navigate this sensitive terrain.

  • The weight of constant worry, looping thoughts, and persistent stress can be exhausting. We'll work together to calm your nervous system, understand the roots of your anxiety, and develop practical tools to help you feel more grounded and in control, even when life feels overwhelming.

  • Whether you're feeling disconnected from your partner, stuck in recurring conflicts, or struggling to communicate your needs, therapy can help. We can explore patterns, heal past hurts, and build skills for a more secure and fulfilling connection. This work can be done with you as an individual or with you and your partner together.

  • Graduating, starting a new career, becoming a parent, ending a relationship, all changes, even positive ones, can be disorienting. Therapy offers a space to process the complexities of transition, grieve what was lost, and move forward with a renewed sense of purpose and direction.

  • A harsh inner critic or an unclear sense of self can make it difficult to feel worthy of happiness and success. We will work to quiet that critical voice, connect with your inherent worth, and cultivate a compassionate relationship with yourself so you can navigate the world with greater confidence.

My Approach

Narrative Therapy

This approach is founded on the idea that you are not the problem; the problem is the problem. Often, the stories we tell ourselves about our lives and our identities can keep us stuck. Through "externalizing conversations," we'll work to separate you from the problems you're facing. This creates space to explore your values, skills, and strengths, allowing you to become the author of a new, more empowering life story.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Pain is a universal part of the human experience, but suffering doesn't have to be. ACT offers a powerful alternative to struggling with difficult thoughts and feelings. We'll practice skills of "cognitive defusion" to get untangled from unhelpful thoughts, and use mindfulness to stay grounded in the present moment. Rather than waiting for difficult feelings to go away, we'll focus on clarifying your core values and committing to actions that build a rich and meaningful life.

Internal Family Systems

Have you ever felt like different parts of you are at war with each other? IFS views the mind as a collection of different "parts" (like an inner critic, a protector, an anxious part), each with its own valuable role. We'll work to understand these parts with curiosity and compassion, rather than trying to get rid of them. The goal is to heal wounded parts and restore access to your core Self—a natural inner leader characterized by confidence, calmness, and wisdom.

Emotionally Focused Therapy

At the heart of our distress are often unmet needs for connection and security. EFT focuses on emotions as the key to healing. We'll work to understand your emotional world and the patterns in your relationships, helping you express your needs more clearly. For couples, this process builds a stronger, more secure attachment bond. For individuals, it helps heal old attachment wounds and fosters a more secure relationship with yourself.
